I remember farming the griffons as well. I liked farming grawl, that's where I got my superior absorption, which was expensive back in the day. Its interesting to see the prices now, heh.

I also remember killing Glint for the first time, that was a blast. My mesmer dominated glint, so it was a fun run to do with guildies who wanted the bonus.

Going through the old screens is always fun, lots of memories.

Running the chests in Witman's Folly and the lost strongbox in Dreadnaughts before keys were introduced.

Farming Desert Griffons out of Destiny's Gorge and Blessed Griffons out of Rankor with my Whammo.

Making a ton of money running Droks in the first few months of the game, and passengers being really excited and amazed that it could be done.

Buying a max gold, +30, 14^50, 10/10 Longsword for >100k very early on.

Ecto being 17k then seeing the unannounced mat trader rollback that happened in like month 3-4 dropping it to like nothing and made a fair few people I knew who were logged on at the time overnight multi millionaires.

Quitting for a year and giving away everything, then starting to play again and wishing I hadn't

When two monks was the main source of healing in FoW (normal mode) and one was a bonder.

Why would anyone miss bonding? That was the most boring play style in the history of the game. I hated monking when I had to go bonder.

I'm not sure that early beta features are exactly what this thread is going for haha.

I miss desert griffon 55. Have that mini on my monk as a nice reminder.

There's no shortage of laziness in Guild Wars, I agree with you it's not the most action packed, but if you were tired and didn't want to pay attention for whatever reason then that was the thing to do.

This and the comment about Pre-Searing. It's a shame I couldn't feel that same wonderment when I played the other expansions.

the first halloween and NOT knowing what to do for the mad king!
getting my first hat! (and STILL have it--never trashed it after showing it to the festival hat guy)....having to have lots of space on characters to carry around things like materials and hats ...etc.

and
playing an ele and actually being able to kill stuff better than any other class.

For me, old nostalgia is remembering when there were more than 1-2 green entries in the guild panel...

Creating a W/Mo in Factions trial, then switching to Mesmer when I had bought Proph. - mainly the Wammo part. You know, I can heal myself while tanking, and still deal some damage, will have no problem getting a party)
The WTFwhen the Charr did the Searing.
Finding Gwen's broken flute... oh my god, she was so adorable, she wanted to be like me... a mesmer! Oh my poor child! WHY!?
The "runwwwwwwwww" during The Great Northern Wall

But the best of all was finally reaching Kryta. It was one of those first warm days of spring when me with my friend got out of the Griffon's Mouth. Just imagine. After long days of failing to pass that location, during winter, on the very first day of spring, seeing the evergreen landscape of Kryta for the very first time. Good stuff.

Yeah, I really miss the Ascension feeling like becoming a Super Sayian.
Oh and I hope GW2 first experience to be "nooby" as well. But we're all too much about numbers, I'm afraid.

1) PUG, Ice Caves of Sorrow, no one infused and after cave all group rushed to Mursaats and death in seconds from Spectral Agony. All blamed monk (me) while I ROFL until pain.
2) Early GvG, Protective Spirit+Healing Breeze then smiling and do /dance.

Unforgettable moments.

1-hordes of monk bots in Elona creeped the hell out of me the 1st time i saw them (was the 1st time saw bots in a game in general). Sad thing is now bots dont even surprise me after playing Lineage 2 for a few years. Are bots still around in GW?

2-GLF monk (x20), Hey clannies we REALLY need a monk, plz plz plz come help

3- The very 1st "elite mission" i joined in the ToPK was overwhelming. I didnt even have barrage yet and didnt know of elite skills ! i say "joined" because i got kicked out of there at level 1 when my team saw i was trying to use apply poison and power shot ^.^

Do people still go there at all?

4- Using Fire Storm and killing something with it!

5- A moment of silence for Prince Rurik's fall in the noobie shieverpeaks...... :'(

6- Farming the blue FDS... not making it there untill like, the 10th time

7- killing by doppleganger by going tow to toe with him with damage skills! and feeling a great achievment when he was finally dead

Finishing Abaddon's Mouth mission and was like "wait, so the white mantle are the GOOD guys?? shining blade tricked us?"

Thinking that the pre-ascalon map was THE game, not just the tutorial.

Thinking that you could only change secondary once more in the desert, not unlock the ability for unlimited changes. (needless to say i thought i'd lose my mesmer skill forever if I changed.)
